Kristen Clapper BergsmanKristen Clapper Bergsman is an environmental educator, educational product designer, and writer. In 2001, she launched Laughing Crow Curriculum LLC, an educational product design business. In addition to her work with Laughing Crow Curriculum LLC, Ms. Bergsman joined Wugaboo Entertainment LLC in 2007 as Vice President. Wugaboo LLC is a character and content development company that inspires children and their parents to learn, explore and play together.

Previously, Ms. Bergsman spent four years as the Curriculum Developer for the University of Washington’s Center for Ecogenetics and Environmental Health. Prior to that, she managed the Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center in Bellevue, Washington. Ms. Bergsman managed the facility and oversaw a variety of programming, which was attended by over 12,000 people a year. She oversaw the growth of the Lake Washington Watershed Internship Program, a grant-funded program providing yearlong internships for local high school students interested in watershed education. Ms. Bergsman and her husband also operated Stepping Stone Photography, a successful wedding photography company, before deciding to focus on other entrepreneurial ventures.

Currently, Ms. Bergsman volunteers as a crow surveyor for the University of Washington’s crow count program. She previously volunteered as a Board Member for the Environmental Education Association of Washington.

Ms. Bergsman holds a B.A. from Huxley College of Environmental Studies (Bellingham, Washington) in Environmental Education and Interpretation, from which she graduated magna cum laude. She is currently pursuing graduate work at the University of Washington. She and her husband happily share their Seattle neighborhood with many crows.
