New Program for iLab Elementary School Makerspace

Making | Tinkering | STEM Education

We’re excited to be working with the Cascadia Elementary PTA to design a new enrichment program that utilizes the school’s awesome makerspace.

With the new iLab STEM Education enrichment program, we are developing a curriculum for all 1st and 2nd grade classrooms. Students will visit the makerspace for class sessions facilitated by trained parent volunteers with the support of classroom teachers. First grade students will be exploring principles of biomimicry as they investigate properties of materials and the adaptations of marine plants and animals. Second graders will build simple circuits to light up a paper city. We’re excited to develop and coordinate this new program and to get these young inventors, makers, artists, and engineers creating collaborative projects.
