Mercer Slough Environmental Education Center, Pacific Education Institute, and Olympic Park Instituteinvite you to participate in an evening teacher training to show you how to translate tried and true field science techniques from the wilderness to your schoolyard
FIELD SCIENCE: FROM THE WILDERNESS TO YOUR SCHOOLYARD

Learn about field science techniques that engage students inmeaningful investigation sof the outdoors with staff from two organizations equipped with years of experience in guiding student investigations and in designing curriculum that facilitates inquiry outdoors. In this three hour training participants will examine student generated field data, explore the types of questions asked about our environment, complete an investigation with outdoor data collection, and identify Washington State's core content standards achieved by field science. Teachers will leave with tools and curriculum for engaging students in field science in the schoolyard. Three workshops to choose from.
