Celebrate Earth Science Week Oct 11-17
Established by the American Geological Institute in 1998, Earth Science Week reaches more than 20 million people each year with information, activities, and resources to promote better understanding of the geosciences and stewardship of the planet.
This year's celebration also includes No Child Left Inside Day (Tuesday, October 13), the first annual Women in the Geosciences Day (Thursday, October 15), the launch of AGI's Earth Science Organizations web site , the Edward C. Roy Jr. Award for Excellence in Earth Science Teaching, and the annual Earth Science Week essay, photo, and arts contests. In addition, events are being organized nationwide by schools, universities, museums, science centers, nonprofits, and government agencies. To learn more or find out how you can participate, contact AGI's Geoff Camphire or visit Earth Science Week online.
